نفى بيان صادر عن الجبهة الجنوبية الحديثة وجود أيى علاقة للتنظيم بوزير الخارجية د. لام أكول الذي شكل رئيس الحركة سلفاكير ميارديت لجنة للتحقيق معه حول علاقته بالتنظيم الذي تتهمه الحركة بعرقلة نشاطها بولاية أعالي النيل.
وقال البيان الصادر أمس ان من اسماهم بالمجموعة الانتهازية التي تم فصلها من التنظيم نتيجة لمخالفتهم اللوائح التي تنص على عدم التبعية السياسية للقيادات هي التي يقودها أكول وسمت نفسها الجبهة الجنوبية الحديثة (الجنوب - التنمية - الديمقراطية)، وشدد البيان على ان تنظيم الجبهة الجنوبية الحديثة تنظيم طلابي فقط وليس له أي قيادات في الشارع.
وفي السياق نفسه نفى بيان آخر للجبهة الجنوبية الحديثة المنشقة علاقة التنظيم بوزير الخارجية، وشدد البيان على انه تنظيم طلابي مستقل وقياداته من داخل الجامعات ويدعو لانفصال الجنوب عبر حق تقرير المصير، واستبعد البيان تبعية التنظيم لأكول لجهة انه يتبع لتنظيم وحدوي (الحركة الشعبية).
