Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin Chairman of SPLM-DC received in his office this morning an Official delegation that delivered an invitation letter from the Government of Upper Nile State.
The delegation was lead by Reverend Peter Gai Lual, and membership of Muma Tiger advisor of the government for humanitarian affairs, Peter Lam of elders committee, Tipo Deng legal advisor, Rev.Tut Ket, and Mr. James Chief of Kum tribe. The meeting was also attended by Cde Luk Bedong the supervisor of the greater Upper Nile State in SPLM-DC and DR. Peter Adwok Otto Secretary of information and official spokesman of SPLM-DC.
The chairman Dr. Lam Akol thanked the delegation for their initiative and explained at length the necessity of dialogue in resolution of problems. He reviewed the current situation in south Sudan and stress the strength of south-south dialogue in whole south and the dialogue of inhabitance of every states.
The Chairman of SPLM-DC Cautioned on the necessity of implementation of the resolutions of these conferences before holding new ones. He referred to the 2008 conference and the good resolutions there in. He also stressed on the CPA provision of the states’ authorities on the local government in the states. He also diagnosed the reasons of instability in Upper Nile State, and said if the government implements what they have within their powers, there will be no fighting.
The chairman of the delegation explained why the upper Nile state is holding a conference at this particular time, is to rally all the sons and daughters of the state to try to resolve many problems in the state. The party agreed to consider the invitation and will make its position clear in the due time since the invitation had not involved the party in setting of the agenda and also the relatively short notice as the conference is convening between the 1st and 3rd September 2010.
