The recent security breach that killed many innocent people and destroyed a lot of properties has made Malakal to become the bloodiest City in South Sudan and its future look gloom. Given this situation a question will rise about who will win the game play between the NCP and SPLA?
On 23/2/2009, as I was skimming on the Sudanese latest news via internet, I had encountered terrible news in Sudanile .com. Due to this news I immediately contacted the members of my family to ensure that they are safe. During my conversation with them I heard voice of bullet; this forced me to quit the conversation. On the following day, I did the conversation again just to make sure about the cause of the fighting. So I was told that the fighting was between the Militiamen back by Khartoum and SPLA ARMY in Malakal town, because of the wanted leader arrival to Malakal.
This has raised a lot of questions, how Tangnyi did arrived Malakal, since he has been wanted for the 2006 events which killed 150 people and destroyed countless properties. How did he get away from the SPLA security apparatus? Why did the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) fail to take legal action seriously, since it has already issued an arrest warrant against him? Or it has failed to argue NCP to cooperate in the arrest of Tangnyi for killing innocent people?
The arrival of Tanginya to Malakal this time is absolutely a big challenge to the GOSS and a test to its ability to secure and protect his people. In fact, he had proven the weakness of the SPLA, and put himself above the law. Although, Tanginyi came to Malakal in full knowledge of SPLM partner, his action resemble to what Dr/ Khalil Ibrahim did when he attack Omdurman in a way that surprised and put the Sudanese National Security Organ and the government in a real challenge for their failure to know their movement beforehand and contain the situation.
Given these, I can say that the SPLM as well as the GOSS have completely failed to control the security situation in the Southern Sudan, where many innocent people were led like sheep to slaughter without a shepherd. The Government of the Southern Sudan has become:
1 incapacitate to control security breach situation that occur frequently
2.Negligence of people's protection
3.reluctant to address security issues seriously
For these reasons, Tanginy managed to get a safe refuge again after many innocent people had been killed. Not only he got a safe refuge, but he also declared during the press conference immediately in his arrival to Khartoum that "no one can prevent him from going to South Sudan". He says this, because he knows for sure that no one can dare to challenge him in South Sudan. This means that no one can intimidate him and subdue him either. He can go to South Sudan at any time and kill people and come back as usual. Yes, he has every right to say that, because he knows that Sudan is rule by the jungle law and doesn't respect or value human life.
What happened on 9/1/2009 in Malalak is a clear indication that the leaders don't care either people goes to hell or not. The only thing that is equivocal is the position of the government toward its people in terms of security matter. What they are doing to meet this need? Or there is hidden agenda that prevented them from condemning the shameful clashes. What is going on in the South Sudan need The GOSS to be heedful and wary, otherwise some tribes will be victimized by the current political situation, where other tribes are not well represented in the Government and in the decision making process.
For example, when the clashes occurred in Malakal for which tribe will be the first in procession, Chollo was disarmed immediately without disarming the other tribe, because of power sharing imbalance in the state.
Therefore, I argue my community to be on track , so that we will be in impregnable position in the political arena and against those who are dreaming for the invasion of our land. Layi arum ki rejo dwata neni ki nying been. We don't want to be killed like Abel in the Bible, who was kill by his brother Cain because God accepted his sacrifice and rejected Cain's sacrifice that was offered with improper attitude and was not up to God's standards
