Ban Tut, the young head teacher of Akobo primary school, is proud of his institution. His office is in one of the few brick buildings in the southern Sudanese town, off an avenue of trees which was planted before independence in 1956.

The government has cleared South Sudan to continue using Uganda's country code (+256) amid protests from a some MPs, pushing for an end to what they described as impunity.

Akobo County Press Release
On the dawn at 5 am through 8 am of Sunday August 2nd 2009, another massacre took place at Geni River at Mareng which is about 40 Km south west of Akobo. It should be recalled that the most devastating attack took place in April in a number of Nyandit Payam villages, killing about 300 people mostly women, elderly and children and displaced the whole area population to Akobo town.

As I write this article, I do not care whether Hon. Pagan Amum is from my tribe and has a close blood relationship with me. What I care about is the truth and the public good that is being negated by his defiance behaviour as a public figure in the Sudan.
